As readers of this newsletter, you’ve heard a lot about and from me. We’ve talked about everything from my adventures into credit cards to why I came to work at Spaceship.
But I am surrounded every day by an awesome team of people, and they’ve been working on some equally awesome stuff over the last few months.
And it’s time to celebrate what they’ve been working on!
So, without further ado, I’d like to welcome you to our first ever quarterly update newsletter!
It’s jam-packed with details on all the Spaceship launches and landings from the last few months. Plus, a sneak peek at what’s next!
Launches and landings
🚀 We re-skinned the app
They say change is as good as a space holiday. Okay, no one says that. But we did feel our Spaceship Voyager app needed a little makeover. It’s lighter, it’s fresher, it’s oh-so cool — and it has purple in all the right places.
📈 We made new charts
We created a unit price card because, well, it’s important. It provides you with a report on the unit price for your chosen portfolio and shows you the change in unit price over time. You can scroll through the history to see the change in unit price over one month, three months, six months, and a year. Have a play with the chart to see how the unit price has changed over different periods, but remember past performance is not a reliable indicator of how it will perform in the future.
We also expanded the functions available on the account card. Tap on it — go on, do it! — and you’ll see your individual investment performance over time.
🧠 We doubled down on fun facts
Did you know Twitter was almost called 'Friendstalker,' but the name was dismissed as being too creepy? Thanks to our new Did You Know cards, you can discover some of the weird and wonderful facts about the companies in your portfolio. Learning mode: enabled.
🏦 We launched bank account verification
It’s not the most fancy-pants update, but our engineering team worked mighty hard on our verification process. And it helps us protect your funds and ensure your experience with us is safer and more secure, so that’s a win!
🗓️ We put the spotlight on your investment plans
If you have an investment plan, your plan details are now front and centre on the transaction history screen. This is super handy if you want to know when your next investment is due.
📩 We bought and sold some stocks
Speaking of investments, we made some exciting changes to our Spaceship Universe Portfolio. We added Sea and Next Science, and we removed EssilorLuxottica and Class.
🏃 We generally made things faster
We made some changes behind the scenes so we could be just like Daft Punk and sing “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” all day long. (We don’t really do that.)
Future missions
💸 We don’t want to give the game away, but let’s just say that if you’re ready to take flight, you’ll love what’s coming up around the bend. Stay tuned. 💸
